Technology will not solve the
problems of the world.

In the history of the industrialized world, every time a new technology comes along, the proponents of that technology claim that it will be able to solve the ails of humanity. The printing press, the steam engine, the telegraph, the telephone, the television, the computer, the internet... each of these developments, and many others not mentioned, brought to society as much bad as they did good. For example, when radio was introduced to the general public, it wasn't long before the idealistic intentions of its inventors were almost completely overtaken by commercial interests. Most other technologies have had similar fates, especially those involving media.
