| In
Austin, between two parallel streets, Lavaca and I-35,
rests the flesh of our city. On a daily basis, members of
every level of society come together to travel down these
arteries contained within a few urban blocks.
Unfortunately, they seldom acknowledge one another.
Humans have a strange way of ignoring the individuals
that lay outside of their immediate social boundaries. I
also take part in this urban caste system. I get into my
car, jump onto the interstate and never take the time to
look at those who are not part of my limited environment.
This project is my attempt to look beyond the societal
structure I have been placed within, and to reveal the
faces of the people we often ignore. I can't begin to thank these people for what they have given me.
