While Dogs Dream

This body of work is based on my interpretations of dog dreams. Dogzilla, the Shiba Inu, and Rae Gunn, the Norwegian Elkhound, are the players. Dogs are such a part of my life that I have been coming back to them time and time again as inspiration for my art. The dogs have as many expressions and ideas as most people I know. They are always ready to work for their dinner, smile, bark, look over there; they are talented subjects. I don't want to sound like some crazed dog person, so just know: to look into a dog's eyes is to look into their dreams.

WHY: AKA Seven Years of Square

The series contains over 90 photographs shot in five states. Everything I saw began to look trite. As the process of exploring my surrounding grew, so did my view of these same surroundings. What once seemed commonplace took on new meaning and surpassed the idea of trite. I hope the viewer is amused and drawn in by the images. What on the surface is one thing, as a whole becomes another. WE ARE CONSTANTLY ASKING OURSELVES: WHY?
