Jason Carroll
Co-Founder, Blog, OS Ithaca

Jason looks for photos that de-emphasize his hairline.

Rose Merendino
Co-Founder, Blog, OS Ithaca

Rose's intuition has only been wrong one time. Rose is taking care of our baby, so she blogs less often.

John Alston
Blog Team, OS Ithaca

John is a pugilist, so weigh your argument carefully.

Jana Prikryl
Blog Team

Jana blogs in metric, because she's from Canada. Right now she's in graduate school, so she blogs less often.

Joshua Kaufman
Blog Team, OS Columbus

Joshua is technically and mentally adept. Right now he's in graduate school, so he blogs less often.

Megan Reardon
Blog Team

Megan is crafty, in that arty sort of way. NotMartha takes a lot of her time, so she doesn't blog as much as she used to.

What is OPENSEWER?
Boston

Skepticism, Art, Community. That's what we're about.

Our mission statement: "Opensewer is an organization dedicated to promoting art, creating community, and questioning the follies of society."

Opensewer is like a dripping faucet. We build the wall brick by brick. We don't seize the day. We cut through the rock over thousands of years. We erode the shore, forcing you to build a retaining wall. We're the card house that survives the windstorm. We're the Zamboni that makes the ice nice and smooth again. We're that scatchy feeling in the back of your throat. We're the enema of the information age.

We are too irreverent to be taken seriously, and too serious to be considered aloof. This is a space in which we feel very comfortable operating.

We don't like rampant materialism. We frown on conspicuous consumption. We don't like mind-numbing, ad-dominated media programming. We don't like the fact the most of the world seems to value image over substance. We don't like the fact that most of America has lost the ability to truly see. We don't like floral wallpaper borders, The Sopranos, country-home style decorating, dammit, sport utility vehicles or hyper-commercialized professional sports, and if that bothers you then we suggest that you visit this site. Or this one.

However, if you're into it, contact us and we'll tell you how you can help.

* Zero, Zero

Opensewer was originally broadcast into space from a point one block east of Cleveland's origin.

If you're elevated high enough, you can see the marker from twenty miles away.

Everything comes from somewhere.
