Notes from the Open
Sewer |
| On
Thursday, October 1st, 1998 the first meeting of the
Cleveland Open Sewer discussion group took place.
Seven-thirty on a brisk fall evening, and let me tell you
the atmosphere at Night Town in Cleveland
Heights was just perfect! Many forces were at work that
evening- with the full moon only a week away you can be
sure there was some wild discussion! A bottle of wine,
three scotch-n-sodas and two martinis later the evening
was concluded. Thanks to Mark Linder for his valued input
in written form... starting with his article a discussion
on the nature of architectural theory and its
integration in practice evolved. For those of you
who missed the meeting, the ballast for the discussion
was Linder's article, "Architectural Theory is No
Discipline," published in a 1992 volume titled Strategies
in Architectural Thinking (MIT Press).
