STATEMENT
Everyday
we are surrounded by both the natural world and a world of human
fabrication. Skyscrapers, bridges, and massive industrial machinery
made from materials such as I-beams, piping, bar stock, expanded
metal, grating, and concrete are erected to form our cities and
our environment. Nature also arranges material to assemble forms
and habitats. The intimate link between how we construct our modern,
city structures and the architecture found in nature is the departure
point for my sculpture. Therefore, my goal is to develop a visual
language utilizing large-scale industrial materials and to explore
their potential relationship to natural forms.
