Submitting work to Opensewer.com We love receiving new work to consider for exhibition on Opensewer! We thought we'd post our submission requirements here, in order to save time for everyone. Please note: if you have your own art website, we'll be happy to look at it to get acquainted with your work, but we do not consider that an actual submission. We have specific requirements for our galleries on OS, so please follow the instructions below. Your work will be reviewed by our art jury who will decide whether or not to exhibit the work on Opensewer. The jury usually makes decisions within two weeks after receiving submissions. Here's exactly what's required: 1. Digital files, photographic prints, or slides of your artwork (up to 20 works). We prefer digital files. If you don't already have digital copies of your work, we prefer prints (max. 8.5"x11") - for us they scan better than slides. We'll take either. If you already have your work in digital format, send us your images as *high-quality* .jpeg files, *at least 600 pixels in the shortest dimension*. 2. Artist statement. Tell us the purpose/inspiration behind your work. We prefer to receive this as plain text in the body of an email, so that we may easily upload it to the website if you are accepted. 3. Biography/resume/exhibit history. Include a description of yourself, your career, significant achievements, and exhibitions. Again, submit this as plain text in the body of an email. 4. A portrait photograph of yourself. It's important that our users be able to associate a person with the artwork they see! Please send your portrait as a .jpeg attached to an email message. 5. A complete list of all of the works that will be on display. With each work, be sure to include the following information: Title, size, medium, date, edition (if applicable), price (if applicable), description/commentary of the piece, whether or not the work is framed, and any other information relevant to the piece. Be sure that it is easy for us to match the appropriate image to its description. Again, include this as text in the body of an email. We prefer to receive everything electronically. Click here to email us your work. If you choose to mail your submission to us, please send it in a maximum 9"x12" secure envelope, and include a return envelope with postage. Send the materials to the following address: Opensewer If your work is accepted for exhibition, we will forward a copy of our Artist Agreement for you to sign. The agreement protects your rights, gives us permission to display your work, and outlines terms of sale (essentially, OS receives a 30% commission on the sale of your work, if you choose to make it available for sale).
