BIOGRAPHY
My
name is Kaite Ripple. I am a multi-media artist, specializing in
improvisational singing, web design, dancing, cooking, photography,
poetry, songwriting, necklace making, popcorn popping and living.
I feel blessed to live the life I've been given, and I am content
with the person I am. I am lucky enough to find ecstasy more often
than not, even though I've been through the depths of depression
and have been through days of the most painful hopelessness that
nearly brought me to the brink of my own demise. If you ask me who
I am, I will tell you I am another dash of salt. If you ask me how
I feel, I will tell you I feel rippled.
Most
recently, I have graduated from Eastern Michigan University, with
a degree in history. I've been an unemployed pauper for nearly six
months, and I've organized a performance art series in abandoned
locations (restaurants, train cars, warehouses & parking structures)
throughout Ann Arbor. As a vocalist, I believe my true calling--my
yoga, my life's work--is singing. "The Abandoned Series"
has given me the opportunity to perform improv & lyric songs,
as well as to meet, create & organize a community of vibrant
young artists around Ann Arbor.
I have
lost my Pentax K-1000, and thus have lost the means to express myself
through a lens. The photographs in this gallery were taken within
the first year of my introduction to my now-lost-camera. To say
that they do not truly represent my current vision is a massive
understatement--I give you these photographs as an expression of
who I have been, not who I am now. It is my hope that they inspire
in you the same awe and wonder that the natural world inspires in
me, but if they do not--it is of no matter, for our journeys into
enlightenment will, no doubt, be different. Our paths will collide
& diverge & the most we can do is learn from each other
about what it means to be alive. What is most important is finding
a contented, balanced relationship with yourself and the wellspring
of intuitive inspiration that is our birthright.
Find
me a ripple, and I will find you proof that the world is divine.
