I've never really been good with beautiful images, at least in the traditional sense. I'm more attracted to images with sinister undercurrents, the sense that some unnamable force is at work. Everyone has a dark side, and I think that if I don't acknowledge and explore mine, it's going to sit and fester in my subconscious. I use photography to exorcise that dark side--to get it outside of me and into a physical object so I can better understand it. Most of my images aren't about anything more than the image itself, and the effect that image has on the viewer. The reaction of the viewer, whether they are repelled or intrigued, says more about them than it does about the
image.
